7th Street bridge in Fort Worth reopened after suspicious bag recovered

The Fort Worth Police Department and Fire Department all responded to a suspicious package on top of one of the 7th Street bridge arches at 1:12PM this afternoon.

All westbound lanes of 7th Street were closed while emergency responders investigated the scene. A photo taken by a spectator shows the bag on top of the bridge.

Police were dispatched to a “14×14 box wrapped in Christmas paper with a big red bow.”

Fort Worth FD utilized one of their aerial platform trucks to inspect and take possession of the bag. The department’s Bomb and Arson division responded as well. It turned out to be a non-hazard.

The scene has been cleared and all lanes have been reopened.
