Two people drown after falling off boat at Lake Lewisville

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Division is investigating the drowning of two individuals on the July 4th holiday.

Yesterday evening around 8:00pm, Texas game wardens were notified of a drowning at Lake Lewisville. Emergency responders were originally called to the scene after two people fell off a boat near Pilot Knoll Park and never resurfaced.

Texas DPS, TPWD Game Wardens, Highland Village FD and PD, Lewisville FD, and US Army Corps of Engineers Rangers all responded to assist with the rescue efforts.

The bodies of both individuals were recovered late Sunday night. The victims have been identified as a 31-year-old woman and a 28-year-old woman.

The incident remains under investigation.
