One resident burned in northeast Dallas 3-alarm apartment fire

The Dallas Fire Rescue responded to an apartment fire at around 12:50am this morning at 11050 Woodmeadow Parkway (Wood Meadow Apartments). First arriving firefighters found heavy fire showing thru the roof of the 3-story apartment building.

A 2nd alarm was immediately requested to the scene. A 3rd alarm followed later in the incident for additional manpower assistance.

“Despite the fire being well advanced, firefighters were able to cut it off by accessing a breezeway in front of the fire’s direction of travel; significantly limiting the damage.”

A total of 24 apartment units were impacted by the blaze. 12 of the units sustained fire damage while the others had varying damage from smoke and water.

One resident suffered a non-life-threatening burn injury while trying to escape from the fire. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators believe the fire began in a unit on the third floor, but the exact cause is listed as undetermined at this time.
