Fort Worth police arrest robbery suspect after standoff at 7-11

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred on New Year’s Eve at a 7-11 north of downtown.

At 8:37pm, Fort Worth police were dispatched to a robbery at the 7-11 on Yucca Avenue at the Interstate 35W service road. Initial unconfirmed reports indicated a man with a knife was pushing people around and actively robbing the store.

When officers arrived, they determined the suspect was still inside the store. SWAT was called to assist with apprehension of the perpetrator.

The suspect was later arrested without incident.

Robbery detectives are investigating the incident.
