Officers received information that a person of interest in a previous homicide wanted to turn himself in to police. It was arranged for the suspect to meet with uniformed officers in a parking lot in the 6500 block of Skillman Avenue at Abrams Road. When officers arrived the suspect was sitting inside his vehicle armed with a weapon. The officers gave loud verbal commands for the suspect to drop his weapon. The suspect pointed his weapon at the officers, and fearing for their lives they fired their weapons.  As the suspect was still inside his vehicle and it was unclear of his condition, the SWAT Unit was called. It was later determined the suspect was deceased inside his vehicle.  The suspect is identified as Stony Eugene Rawlinson W/M 02/26/1973. A weapon was recovered.
