Show your Rig #70 – Pictured here is Squad 22, part of the Northeast Fire Department Association (NEFDA) Squad 22 is housed at North Richland Hills Fire Station #1.
NEFDA was developed by a group of cities in Northeast Tarrant County for the purpose of combining manpower, ideas, and education for Specialty Operations. The Operations include Explosive Response, Hazardous Materials, Technical and Swift Water Rescue as well as Mass Casualty Response. The member cities include North Richland Hills, Bedford, Keller, Haltom City, Grapevine, Euless, Roanoke, Hurst, Watauga, Richland Hills, Colleyville, Trophy Club, Westlake and Southlake.
The Explosives Response Team (ERT) has 8 fully trained personnel and is considered a TYPE II team allowing for response to simultaneous incidents. The team operates from a custom built 2005 SVI response vehicle that provides storage and transportation of the team’s Remote c F6A Robot, 4 X-ray systems, bomb suits for 4 personnel, explosives detector, chem.-bio detectors, radiation detection units, plus command and control capabilities.
