Grand Prairie Water Question
Earlier today, a follower asked, “With all the water issues, what would happen if there was a structure fire in Grand Prairie?” We emailed GPFD and here is what they said:
“In reference to the Grand Prairie water issues: We have made some operation changes to our structure fire to increase the number of pumpers. Also, we have some city water tenders that can act as a tanker if we need a large amount of water. Finally, Eurocopter who has some fire protection equipment at our airport has made their ARF truck an option as it holds 1500 gallons of water and foam.
Essentially, we are monitoring this by the minute and should have the water problem solved by tonight. Any structure will be evaluated to extinguish or simply allow it to burn.”
