Update: Grand Prairie police looking for vehicle involved in fatal hit-and-run
The Grand Prairie Police department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash last night in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 at Great Southwest Parkway.
As we first posted last night, Grand Prairie Police and Fire units responded to a major accident on the interstate involving a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a tow truck driver, was killed at the scene.
Grand Prairie Police offers are investing the crash as a hit and run. The tow truck operator was assisting a stranded motorist on the shoulder of I20 when he was struck by a passing vehicle. The vehicle is described as a 2012 – 2015 white or multi-colored Nissan Altima last scene tracing westbound on I20 at 360. It is believed to have damage to the front right portion of the vehicle. Pieces of the vehicle found at the scene are white in color, but the vehicle may be a different color.
