DFW Scanner Nightly Recap: January 9, 2018

Denton Fire/EMS and Police responded to a water rescue with vehicle into the Hickory Creek earlier this morning. Two teenagers were recovered from the scene, both deceased. Read the original report here.

Hurst PD had multiple officers at L.D. Bell High School today investigating a text message threat sent to a handful of students. As of this time, the threat continues to be unsubstantiated. Read the original report here.

Multiple agencies responded to a train derailment earlier this morning in Aubrey proper. No injuries, but the damage was serious as several train cars were derailed off the tracks. Read the original report here.

Fort Worth FD responded to an apartment fire early this afternoon in the 6600 block of S. Hulen Street. Heavy fire was showing upon arrival. Read the original report here.

Pecan Plantation Fire Department’s Engine 82 was involved in a crash this morning while responding to a trash fire. Luckily, no injuries. Read the original report here.

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a garage fire this afternoon in the 13800 block of Ramblewood Trail. The fire was seen throughout north Dallas. Read the original report here.

Arlington PD responded to a shooting at Randol Mill Park this afternoon and discovered a person who was shot. EMS transported the victim to AMH, but was declared deceased. Officials are saying it is a suicide. Read the original report here.

Multiple law enforcement and fire personnel responded to a crash involving a fatality on Highway 377 south of Aubrey this afternoon. The crash involved a commercial truck and a vehicle. Read the original report here.

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a house fire this afternoon in northwest Dallas near the intersection of Marsh Lane and Royal Lane. Heavy black smoke was showing on arrival. Read the original report here.
