Arlington PD officer released from hospital after being shot on Friday night

Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson has said the officer struck by gunfire after chasing a fleeing subject on Friday night has been released from the hospital. Chief Johnson says the officer still faces a long road ahead, but is recovering.
Chief Johnson released photos of the officer’s duty belt. The bullet went through the belt before entering the officer’s body and causing serious injury.
The officer was shot while chasing down a male who fled from the scene of a traffic stop. The suspect shot the officer during the foot chase. Another officer returned fire, striking and killing the suspect.
