The Garland Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal shooting late last night.
Officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 2800 block of Dairy Road. When they arrived, they located a man in the parking lot shot multiple times. Garland FD/EMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.
Homicide investigators believe the victim was inside his apartment when a vehicle burglary alarm sounded. He believed someone may have been trying to break into his work truck. As he investigated it, he was shot.
The investigation is ongoing.
