Resident shoots, kills roommate in White Settlement, calls 9-1-1 days later

The White Settlement Police Department has released updated information regarding the homicide discovered last Friday night.

White Settlement police officers responded to a deceased person call around 7:00pm on Friday night, March 1st, in the 1200 block of Kimbrough Street. When officers arrived, they met with the resident who advised he had not seen his roommate or the roommate’s vehicle for several days. He told officers that when he got home from work, he noticed his roommate’s door was shut and dogs were scratching at the bedroom door. The resident told officers that when he opened the door, he discovered his roommate deceased inside the bedroom.

Firefighters and paramedics from White Settlement FD and MedStar EMS responded to the scene and declared the roommate, a 43-year-old man, deceased on the scene.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be a homicide.

The resident, who originally reported the deceased roommate to police, was detained for questioning. He later admitted to getting into an argument with his roommate and shooting him days prior. He has been placed under arrest for his roommate’s death.

The investigation is ongoing.
