National Weather Service confirms tornado damage in Mesquite
The National Weather Service has determined damage caused by yesterday morning’s storm in Mesquite was caused by a EF-0 tornado.
Survey teams with the NWS Fort Worth assessed the damage yesterday and found damage consistent with EF-0 winds (75-85MPH). The tornado occurred Saturday morning at 7:35am and began just west of 635 north of Bruton Road and continued east, eventually coming to an end just east of Belt Line Road.
Damage to houses, including roofs, fences, signs, and poles were consistent with the EF-0 rating.
A Severe Thunderstorm WARNING had been issued for the impacted area, but there was no warning for a possible tornado.
