Hurst police track down and capture stolen vehicle suspects after pursuit & crash
This morning at around 5:20am, a resident in the 800 block of Henson Drive called Hurst Police to report his Ford pickup truck had just been stolen from his driveway. The resident woke up to the car alarm and heard the engine start up.
Hurst police officers arrived at the house and immediately put out an alert to surrounding agencies regarding the stolen vehicle and its description.
Within 15 minutes, a Hurst police officer observed the vehicle near the Bellaire Shopping center occupied by two males. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspects evaded arrest.
A short pursuit ensued, eventually ending with the suspects crashing the pickup into a motorcycle shop in the 300 block of Highway 10. The suspects fled on foot from the scene. One was arrested quickly after the crash and the other was located a few hours later walking in the area.
Both suspects have been charged. The motorcycle shop sustained major damage, but luckily there were no injuries in the crash.
