Flash Flood WATCH issued for North Texas in preparation for heavy rain

The US National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood WATCH for a large portion of north Texas, including the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, through Wednesday evening in preparation for heavy rains.

Rain will move in this evening and should stay around through the day Wednesday and into Wednesday evening. Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are possible with isolated areas receiving 5-6 inches between now and Wednesday evening.

Flash flooding may occur in urban and poor drainage areas. Heavy rainfall may also cause flooding of creeks, streams, and rivers. Use caution if you are traveling in the weather.

Bell, Bosque, Collin, Comanche, Coryell, Dallas, Denton, Eastland, Ellis, Erath, Hamilton, Hill, Hood, Johnson, Lampasas, McLennan, Mills, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Stephens, Tarrant, and Wise are all included in the Flash Flood WATCH.
