Woman found dead inside Denton apartment; son arrested and considered a suspect

On Sunday evening just before 10pm, Denton Police officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 2400 block of Stockbridge Road. When officers arrived at the scene, they entered the apartment through an unlocked door to check on the welfare of those inside. After gaining entry into the apartment, the body of a woman was located.

Denton paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced the female deceased. It appeared the decedent had been there for some time and had obvious signs of trauma. The suspicious person who prompted the original call was not located until this morning.

At 10:30am, the suspect was taken into custody by the Lighthorse, Oklahoma Police Department in Love County, Oklahoma after a pursuit with law enforcement.

It has been confirmed that the suspect is the decedent’s adult son. The identities have not been released by officials.

The cause of death investigation is still ongoing at this time. Due to the ongoing circumstances, Denton Police are labeling this as a “suspicious death.”
