Off-duty Dallas police officer shoots and injures knife-wielding man

Last night (Saturday evening), an off-duty uniformed Dallas police officer was involving in a shooting incident in the 100 block of N. Carroll Ave.

While at the gas pumps, the officer observed a man being chased by another man carrying a “bladed weapon.” The officer, fearing for the life of the man being chased, intervened and fired his weapon, striking the suspect.

The suspect was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The officer was not injured.

The suspect is expected to be charged with Aggravated Assault of a Deadly Weapon.
