Red Oak police searching elementary school after ammunition found in toilet

The Red Oak Police Department is currently conducting a thorough search of the Life School Elementary Charter School after pistol ammunition was found in a restroom.

According to officials, dispatch received a call from the school around 8:00am alerting police that pistol ammunition had been discarded inside one of the toilets in the school’s bathroom. Officers responded and, as a precaution, placed the school on lockdown while they investigated.

As this time, officers are conducting a secondary search of the building. Students have been moved to an adjacent building at the Oaks Church.
