Tornado WATCH issued for North Texas – including DFW Metroplex – until midnight

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado WATCH for a large portion of north and northeast Texas until midnight tonight. The DFW Metroplex is included in this weather watch.

Storm development is expected this evening across portions of North Texas. Any storm that forms will have the capability of producing large hail, severe winds, and a tornado. You can also expect heavy rainfall and frequent lightning with any storms.

A watch means atmospheric conditions are favorable for severe weather and tornadoes. A warning means a severe or tornado threat is imminent. Watch means pay attention. Warning means get into shelter!
