Professional baseball player found dead at Southlake hotel

A professional baseball player with the Los Angeles Angels was found dead in a Southlake hotel room this afternoon.

Southlake police were called to the scene of an unconscious person at the Hilton hotel at 1400 Plaza Place. When they arrived, they located a deceased 27-year-old male. He has been identified as Tyler Skaggs, a pitcher with the Los Angeles Angels.

The LA Angels were scheduled to start a series with the Texas Rangers today. The game has been postponed at this time.

Police say no foul play is expected. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
