UPDATE: Mother arrested after 4-year-old child found dead in hot car back in June

The mother of a 4-year-old child who died after being found in a hot car has been arrested.

Back on June 20th, emergency responders were called to a home in Providence Village (Denton County) regarding a child who had been located inside of a hot vehicle. The child was unresponsive, and flown to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. He died two days later.

Yesterday, police arrested the child’s mother, a 37-year-old female, for Injury to a Child. After an exhaustive search, officers with the Aubrey Police Department presented affidavits to a magistrate who determined that probable cause existed for the arrest of the 37-year-old female.

She has been charged with Injury to a Child, a second-degree felony.

This arrest occurred on the same day a child in the city of Denton went missing, and was ultimately found deceased in a vehicle. There was also an 11-month-old child found dead inside of a vehicle in Ellis County two weeks ago. Please keep your eye on the kids, whether at the swimming pool or in the car!

The investigation is still ongoing.
