UPDATE: Arlington officer injured after DWI driver crashes into motorcycle
An Arlington PD officer is recovering after being injured in a highway crash earlier today along westbound I30 near Eastchase.
As we first reported around 9:45am this morning, Arlington FD/EMS were called to the scene of a major accident along westbound I30 near Eastchase Parkway with regards to a major accident / assist police. FD units requested three (3) ambulances to the scene.
One of those injured was an Arlington PD police officer on a motorcycle. According to APD, the officer was conducting traffic enforcement along this stretch of I30 when a driver crashed into his motorcycle.
Arlington EMS transported the officer to the hospital with minor injuries. All people involved are expected to be OK.
Arlington PD has arrested the driver of the vehicle for DWI.
