Intoxicated male arrested after firing rifle multiple times in the Burleson area

The Burleson Police Department responded to multiple reports of shots fired last night, leading to police presence at the Burleson High School football game.

Officers responded to multiple calls of gunshots in the Mistletoe Hills neighborhood. Shortly thereafter, officers also responded to a disturbance call on Evergreen Lane related to the gunshots. As one officer approached the scene, she noticed a vehicle leaving the area, and stopped it. An armed male was taken into custody. A rifle and multiple fired cartridges were located inside.

Police say the man is responsible for firing multiple shots into a vehicle on Evergreen Lane. He is also the person who reportedly fired shots at the intersection of Alsbury and John Jones.

The suspect is a white male in his 30’s. He has been charged with Aggravated Assault. Police do believe the man was intoxicated.

The reports of gunshots prompted police presence at the Burleson High School football game. Police say there was never a threat to the school, but they delayed the release of fans out of an abundance of caution.

No one was injured in the shootings.
