UPDATE: No charges to be filed against parents of 4-year-old shot dead in Fort Worth
The Fort Worth Police Department has released a brief update to the investigation into yesterday’s shooting that claimed the life of a 4-year-old male child.
Police say no charges are expected to be filed in the case. Although the investigation is still in progress, detectives do not believe they will bring charges against the parents of the child.
Emergency responders were called to the home in the 7700 block of Greengage Drive Sunday morning. A young child had been shot in the head by “a gun found in the home.”
Preliminary reports to responding officers indicated it was a sibling who shot the young child. No information has been released yet to indicate whether it was a deliberate or accidental act.
The investigation is in progress.
