UPDATE: Multiple people injured, one fatally, in North Richland Hills crash

The North Richland Hills Police and Fire Departments responded to a multi-vehicle crash this evening around 6:00PM in the 6900 block of Davis Blvd near Odell Street.

Police say an SUV was northbound on Davis Blvd when it entered the oncoming lanes of traffic. It struck a southbound pickup and trailer head-on. A third northbound vehicle struck the pickup and trailer and a fourth vehicle was struck by debris.

All lanes of the roadway were closed while firefighters extrication one person trapped in the wreck. PHI air ambulance also landed at the scene.

The driver of the SUV sustained serious injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to the hospital. The driver of the pickup and trailer was airlifted to the hospital with critical injuries. A passenger of the pickup and trailer was extricated with critical injuries, but died after being transported to the hospital. A fourth person was injured, but not seriously.

NRH’s crash investigation team is investigating the scene. Lanes of Davis Blvd remain to be closed at this hour between Rumfield and Main streets. It is best to avoid this area.
