DPS investigating two fatal crashes in two days along Tin Top Highway near Granbury
TxDPS troopers are investigating two separate fatal vehicle collisions that occurred on Sunday morning and Monday evening on Tin Top Highway north of Granbury.
The first crash occurred around 10AM Sunday morning in the on Tin Top Highway (FM 2580) near the Lipan Drive (FM 4) intersection north of Granbury. DPS says a vehicle was southbound on Tin Top Highway when it veered slightly right, causing the tires to drift off the roadway. The driver, identified as a 41-year-old, overcorrected and crashed head-on into a northbound vehicle. The 41-year-old driver was killed at the scene. The two occupants of the second vehicle, identified as a 34-year-old male and 57-year-old female, sustained serious injuries and were both airlifted from the scene.
The second crash occurred last night around 6:30PM in the 6800 block of Tin Top Highway (FM 2580) near De Leon Drive. DPS says a northbound pickup truck struck a southbound vehicle head-on. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as a 32-year-old male, was airlifted to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 39-year-old female, was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries, but died. Law enforcement also say a four-month old male child was critically injured in the crash and airlifted to the hospital. Unfortunately, the child was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Both crashes remain under investigation.
