National Weather Service surveying damage across Dallas and Collin counties

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth is sending out damage assessment teams to several areas across Dallas and Collin counties today to survey the aftermath.

Teams will be going into the impacted areas in Dallas, Richardson, Garland, Sachse, and Rowlett to study the damage and classify the tornado with an appropriate rating.

As reported last night, the damage in Dallas is primarily confined to the north side of town, bounded by I35E to US-75, along Northwest Highway and north to 635.

Garland PD reported damage to structures near the intersection of Shiloh Road and Miller Road late last night as well.

Sachse PD reported major damage to homes in the 6800 block of Eastview Drive.

Richardson PD reported damage in the southeast of town. Large trees uprooted, vehicles overturned, and roofs blown off. No injuries.
