TXDOT pretreating elevated roadways across DFW ahead of wintry weather chances
The Texas Dept. of Transportation has announced the pretreating of elevated roadways across the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex ahead of a cold front that may bring some wintry precipitation.
According to the National Weather Service, a cold front will move through during the day tonight, dropping temperatures into the 30’s during the overnight hours. There is a chance of wintry precipitation early Tuesday morning as temperatures dip near freezing. The highest chance is between the hours of 6AM and 11AM tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.
If wintry precipitation falls or not, it will likely be a wet commute regardless. Cold rain chances are high during the overnight hours and into Tuesday morning.
In anticipation of possible wintry weather, TxDOT Dallas and TxDOT Fort Worth offices have announced they are pretreating elevate roadways in Dallas, Collin, Denton, Tarrant, and potentially others. At this time, it appears they are focusing on elevated roadways, such as overpasses and bridges.
“Please use caution if you encounter our crews and give them plenty of space to work,” says TxDOT.
