Man arrested for trying to stab Arlington police officer with broken wine bottle
The Arlington Police Department responded to a report of an intoxicated person in a public place at 4654 S. Cooper Street on Christmas Eve.
According to the incident report, officers attempted stop and speak with the suspect, a 23-year-old male, but he kept walking away from them. Police gave verbal commands to stop, but he did not do so.
He physically resisted officers while they took him into custody.
At some point during the encounter, the suspect allegedly attempted to use a broken wine bottle as a weapon to assault the police officer.
The suspect was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant, Resisting Arrest, and Evading Arrest. He was transferred to the Tarrant County Jail on Christmas Day.
