VA Hospital Police shoot, kill distraught man with knife at Dallas hospital
The Dallas Police Department has released a statement regarding the shooting involved the VA Hospital Police that occurred last night in Dallas.
According to officials, the VA Hospital Police department encountered a man who had come to the hospital to seek treatment for psychiatric issues. The man was armed with a knife.
At some point during the encounter, the man attempted to walk away, but VA Hospital police officers followed him and attempted to disarm him. He was subsequently shot by the officers.
The man was transported to the hospital, but died as a result of his injuries.
Although the Dallas Police Department was not associated with this officer-involved shooting, they will still be handling the investigation.
