Man arrested and charged with murder in shooting death of Fort Worth man

The Fort Worth Police Department has arrested a 23-year-old man and charged him with Murder in the shooting death of a 30-year-old man earlier this week in Fort Worth.

Fort Worth police were called to a house in the 2000 block of May Street around 8:30AM Tuesday morning with regards to a person shot. The victim, identified as a 30-year-old male, was shot multiple times and transported to the hospital, but pronounced deceased. His girlfriend called 9-1-1 to report the incident.

The suspect in this case has been identified as the brother of the victim’s girlfriend. According to the arrest warrant, all three were up partying and drinking throughout the night before the shooting occurred in the morning hours. The brother was not pleased with how the victim was treating his girlfriend (suspect’s sister). The argument escalated and resulted in the suspect firing multiple shots at the victim.

The suspect was last seen fleeing from the house after the gunshots rang out. He dumped his handgun, which was purchased “on the street”, in a nearby alleyway before fleeing the scene. Police tracked down his address to Spurgeon Street and observed him getting into a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and he was brought in for questioning.

After the suspect was questioned, an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the Tarrant County jail yesterday (Wednesday) with a charged of Murder.
