Ambulance stolen from Dallas Fire Station 53 recovered in Louisiana

A Dallas Fire Rescue ambulance stolen from Dallas Fire Station #53 earlier this evening has been recovered outside of Shreveport, Louisiana.

According to officials, paramedics at Dallas Fire Station #53 discovered the ambulance had been stolen shortly after being dispatched to a 9-1-1 call.

DFR utilized multiple tracking methods to locate the ambulance, which was spotted traveling eastbound into the state of Louisiana.

The Louisiana State Police were able to stop the stolen ambulance in Bossier City just outside of Shreveport. It is unknown if the driver evaded police.

The female driver was taken into custody.

“The Dallas Fire-Rescue is in the process of confirming and reviewing the circumstances surrounding the theft, and will use that information to determine what corrective actions and or disciplinary measures will be taken,” says Jason Evans, spokesman for the department.
