Two dead after speeding vehicle hits sign, splits in half in Grand Prairie
The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a major accident involving two fatalities that occurred earlier this morning along Belt Line Road in Grand Prairie.
Police say a speeding vehicle, possibly racing another vehicle, was northbound on Belt Line Road near Lone Star Park when the driver lost control. The vehicle struck a signal light pole and split in half.
The driver of the vehicle and one passenger were both ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. They have been identified as a 29-year-old male and a 22-year-old male.
Lanes of Belt Line Road were closed near Lone Star Park as a result of this accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
