Resident shot and killed in burglary at Dallas apartment; three suspects charged with Capital Murder
The Dallas Police Department responded to an apartment burglary and shooting early this morning (Sunday) at 3150 Cliff Crossing Drive.
According to the arrest warrant, three suspects broke into a second floor apartment by breaching glass on the balcony. Two residents inside the apartment were awoken by the breaking glass. One of the residents grabbed a gun and confronted the suspects.
The resident shot and injured one of the suspects during the confrontation. One suspect brandished a gun and shot the resident multiple times. The resident, identified as a 21-year-old male, was killed at the scene.
All three suspects fled the scene before police arrived. They transported the injured suspect to the hospital for a gunshot wound to his torso. Dallas Police caught up with them at the hospital, where they admitted to their involvement in the burglary and murder.
The three suspects, a 19-year-old, 21-year-old, and a juvenile, have been arrested and charged with Capital Murder.
