Woman shot in Haltom City; two suspects in custody following lengthy pursuit into East Texas
The Haltom City Police Department responded to a shooting early this morning in the 2300 block of Thomas Road. Officers arrived on scene around 4:45AM and observed a vehicle fleeing the location.
The vehicle failed to stop for Haltom City police and a pursuit began. The pursuit continued all the way into Van Zandt County near Canton. A driver and passenger were taken to a local jail following the chase.
Officers who remained at the crime scene located a woman who had been shot in the abdomen. It was reported that she may have been injured with a shotgun. Haltom City FD and MedStar personnel responded and transported her to JPS in unknown condition.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
