Two people shot, one fatally, after domestic dispute leads to shootout at duplex in Arlington
The Arlington Police Department responded to a shooting around 10:45PM last night (Saturday) in the 600 block of Lillard Road.
When emergency personnel arrived, they located two people shot. One person, now identified as a 53-year-old male, was found shot near the front door; he was pronounced deceased. A second victim, an adult woman, was transported to Medical City Arlington with a gunshot wound to the shoulder area. She is expected to survive.
Investigators believe the deceased man was engaged in a domestic dispute with another male and the adult female. At some point during the dispute, the man who was later pronounced dead pulled out a weapon and started firing shots inside the house. The second adult male pulled out a firearm and fired at least one shot, striking and killing the man.
“Due to the number of people in the residence and evidence at the scene, it will take some time for detectives to process this case,” says Arlington PD.
At this time, no arrests have been made. The case will be further investigated and referred to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office.
