Intoxicated driver causes serious crash that injured two Dallas PD officers
At around 12:30AM this morning, a Dallas police cruiser occupied by two police officers was driving code 3 (lights and sirens activated) northbound on Webb Chapel Road Extension. They were responding to assist another officer on a shots fired call.
As their police car entered the intersection of Webb Chapel Road Ext. and Northwest Highway, a southbound driver turned left in front of the officers’ vehicle, causing a major crash.
Dallas Fire Rescue firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene for extrication and transport of the officers to a local hospital. Luckily, they are both in stable condition.
The driver who hit the police car was found to be under the influence. He was arrested for Intoxication Assault on a Peace Officer. He did not sustain any serious injuries in the crash.
