Teenager killed in shooting near Fort Worth Stockyards

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred around 6:00am this morning in the 3100 block of North Main Street just north of the Fort Worth Stockyards area.

When officers arrived to the business located at 3108 N. Main Street, they located two people, a man and a woman, with gunshot wounds. MedStar EMS transported both victims to a local hospital, where the male was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as a 17-year-old male from Fort Worth.

Homicide detectives interviewed security personnel on site who reportedly witnessed the 17-year-old male shoot the female. The security personnel then exchanged gunfire with the male suspect. No security personnel were injured during the shootout.

The woman is currently in a Fort Worth hospital with serious injuries. Her status is listed as critical, but stable.

The incident remains under investigation.
