FBI, ATF helping Carrollton police track down person who fired shots in front of police station

The Carrollton Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) are working to track down the person (s) responsible for firing multiple shots in front of the Carrollton police station early Thursday morning.

At around 4:40am, at least eight gunshots were reportedly fired from an individual in a passing car on E. Jackson Road. Three officers who were in the employee parking lot took cover when they heard the shots. Multiple bullet casings were located in the roadway.

Luckily, no one was hurt.

The FBI and ATF have joined the investigation. Police say they are working on footage of the vehicle.

Residents and businesses in the immediate area and on Scott Mill Road are asked to review security
camera video for passing cars or any suspicious activity between the hours of 4:00 a.m.-5:00 a.m.
