8 people shot during 4th of July party in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department responded to a shooting overnight near the intersection of Horne Street and Wellsley Avenue in the Como area of Fort Worth.

Officers heard multiple gunshots in the area while on patrol. They responded to the area and located several victims who had been shot during a large 4th of July party.

MedStar EMS responded with several ambulances, labeling it an “active threat.” All 8 victims were transported to area hospitals in stable conditions, according to police.

Detectives have been gathering evidence from the scene since the shooting occurred around 1:30am this morning. They have located dozens of shell casings at the extensive crime scene.

“It appears several different guns were used due to multiple shell casings in the area,” said FWPD.

No suspects are in custody at this time.
