Family identifies missing man found deceased in Plano creek

The Plano Police Department is investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a creek bed along a busy section of Custer Road on Sunday morning.

At around 11:00am on Sunday morning, Plano police officers, firefighters, and paramedics were called to a possible body found near the 5000 block of Custer Road and Spring Creek Parkway.

Plano police say the man was reported missing by family members last Thursday, July 8. He voluntarily left the house that morning.

Investigators do not believe foul play is involved. The Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office will rule on the final cause of death.

Family and friends have identified the young man as a resident of Plano. His belongings were located at Schimelpfenig Middle School, just northwest of where his body was found. A friend says he was an Army veteran.

Plano PD is investigating the incident.
