Dallas officer hit and dragged by suspect vehicle
Two Dallas police officers have been injured, one potentially seriously, during a traffic stop in the Oak Lawn area.
At around 3:43pm, two Dallas police officers pulled over a driver in the 3000 block of Cotton Belt Avenue just off the Dallas North Tollway.
A passenger in the vehicle was arrested for warrants. As the officers approached the driver, he accelerated and struck one the officers. He then dragged the officer with the vehicle before crashing it into the patrol car, injuring a second officer.
The officer who was hit and dragged was transported to a local hospital with injuries. The second officer was injured, but not transported to the hospital.
The incident remains under investigation.
