House explosion in Plano may have been intentional, police say

The Plano Police Department and Fire Department are continuing their investigation into the house explosion late Monday afternoon in Plano. Investigators now say the explosion may have been intentional.

At around 4:30pm on Monday, multiple 9-1-1 callers reported an explosion at a house in the 4400 block of Cleveland Drive. When emergency responders arrived, they located significant damage and immediately went into rescue mode.

Multiple ambulances were requested to the scene for multiple people injured.

A total of six people were transported to area hospitals, some with serious injuries.

Authorities say one person was inside the house when it exploded. A next door family of five were injured as well.

Investigators have determined the most likely cause was a small gas leak. They have been working with ATMOS to determine additional details surrounding the event.

Plano Police now say the explosion may have been intentional. They believe it was an isolated event and the general public is not in danger.
