Speed and wet road factors in fatal crash near Granbury

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred on Tuesday evening along Highway 377 near Tolar in Hood County.

At around 6:52pm, multiple emergency responders from the Tolar FD, Granbury FD, Texas EMS, and DPS responded to Highway 377 near Campbell Road west of Tolar.

Authorities say the driver of a passenger vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed for the wet highway when she lost control and hit an oncoming car head-on. The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. She has been identified as a 25-year-old woman from Granbury.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
