Motorcyclist killed after being hit head-on by vehicle in Parker County

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred late last night in northeast Parker County.

At around 11:10pm, emergency responders were called to FM 2257 (Jay Bird Lane) in Reno for a major accident involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.

Traffic investigators say a 19-year-old driver was traveling north on Jay Bird Lane when he was forced to swerve into the oncoming lanes due to deers in the roadway, according to officials. When the driver swerved into the oncoming lanes, he hit a motorcyclist head-on.

The motorcyclist, identified as a 63-year-old man from Springtown, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
