Two young males shot and killed at Haltom City park
The Haltom City Police Department is investigating a double homicide that occurred this afternoon in broad daylight at North Park, 5220 Denton Highway.
At around 3:30pm, Haltom City police officers were dispatched to a shooting at North Park near the basketball court. When officers arrived, they found two males with gunshot wounds. Paramedics from MedStar responded to the scene, but both were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators are still working to identify suspects and determine what led to this incident.
Authorities say both victims are between the ages of 15 – 22, but would not comment specific age.

The victims from yesterday’s shooting have been identified as a 16-year-old male and 17-year-old male. Both juveniles were from North Richland Hills.
One of the victims was a student at Birdville High School.
“The Birdville ISD family sends their thoughts and prayers to the families of those impacted by the shooting at North Park in Haltom City on Monday afternoon. Though the off-campus shooting was not school related, a Birdville High student was killed. Additional details will be released by local law enforcement authorities when they are available,” said a Birdville ISD official in a statement.
The other juvenile attended Winfree Academy.
Haltom City police are still investigating the motive behind this crime. They do not believe there is any active and ongoing threat to the general public.
