Toddler accidentally shoots, injures mother and sibling at Granbury Walmart

The Granbury Police Department has released an update regarding the accidental shooting at Walmart.
Today at 11:25am, emergency responders from Granbury Police and Fire along with Texas EMS responded to the parking lot of the Walmart at 735 W. Highway 377 for a shooting incident.
First arriving paramedics found a child and a woman with gunshot wounds.
Detectives say two children, an 18-month-old and a 2 1/2 year old, were inside a car when the 2 1/2 year old located a gun wedged between the front seat and middle console. The toddler accidentally discharged one round which struck the 18-month-old in the leg and hit the mother in the arm and chest. She was standing outside of the vehicle when the incident occurred.
A CareFlite helicopter landed near the scene and airlifted the 23-year-old mother to a Fort Worth trauma center. Her injuries are reported to be serious, but no condition has been released. The 18-month-old was transported by ambulance to a Fort Worth hospital for treatment.
The father of the children, a 26-year-old man, was also standing outside the car when the shooting occurred.
Granbury PD are investigating this incident as an accidental shooting. No charges have been filed.
