Armed felon killed by police in Parker County

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Texas Rangers are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred yesterday afternoon in rural Parker County.

At approximately 4:30pm, members of the Fort Worth Police Department’s Fugitive Unit along with the United States Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force were searching for a man with an active felony warrant related to a domestic assault.

Officers tracked down the 30-year-old man to a rural portion of Parker County. As they attempted to apprehend him, he sped off and rammed a law enforcement vehicle. The suspect’s vehicle became disabled in the area of Michele Court north of Weatherford. It was at this time that DPS troopers say the suspect raised a weapon in a threatening manner. A pursuing Fort Worth PD officer fired his duty weapon striking the suspect. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The suspect was wanted for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Additional details are limited at this time due to the active investigation.
