Motorcyclist killed in suspected road rage crash in Wise County

At 7:15am this morning, multiple emergency responders from the Rhome Police Department, Rhome Fire Department, and Wise County EMS responded to a major accident along Highway 287 between Pioneer Parkway and SH 114 in Rhome.
Law enforcement authorities say a motorcyclist was forced off the road by the driver of a flatbed pickup truck hauling a trailer. The 55-year-old motorcyclist was transported to a Fort Worth hospital, but pronounced deceased a short time later.
The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene immediately after the incident. A truck driver who witnessed the crash stopped to render aid and observed the suspect vehicle as a dark pickup truck pulling a white trailer. The trailer was orange on the bottom and had a black tarp covering a water tank. The suspect vehicle was followed by a similar truck and trailer that may have been traveling together.
Rhome PD is asking any additional witnesses to contact them at 817-636-2400, or call the Wise County Sheriff’s Office at 940-627-5971.
