Man shot, assaulted during robbery attempt in West 7th area
On Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at about 1:16am, Fort Worth PD officers were dispatched to 910 5th Avenue, Harris Hospital (Downtown), in reference to an adult male victim who had arrived by private vehicle and was requesting treatment for a gunshot wound along with other injuries received as the result of a physical assault.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult male, whom had suffered a single gunshot wound to his right foot. The victim stated that he had been with his girlfriend in the West 7th Street corridor in a parking lot near Maestro Tacos, which is located at 3011 Bledsoe Street, when he was approached by three suspects, all unknown adult males.
He said two suspects produced firearms and announced a robbery. During the robbery one suspect discharged a firearm, striking the victim in the right foot before all three suspects began to physically assault the victim. The suspects were unsuccessful in taking any of the victim’s property and fled the scene on foot.
The victim was transported to Harris Hospital (Downtown) via a private vehicle to seek medical treatment. The Robbery Unit detective has been requested for assistance in investigating this incident.
